Advanced Summer Program for students age 11-14
who show high promise and love mathematics

MathPath 2019 will take place from Sunday June 30 (student arrival date) to Sunday July 28 (departure date) at Grand Valley State University (GVSU), Allendale MI.

When you're ready, click on How to Apply to the left. As always, students from all over the world are eligible.

Getting to MathPath is safe and easy, by plane or car. For detailed information click on "Getting There" to the left.

GVSU's beautiful campus (top photo on right) is located on the banks of the Grand River in rural West Michigan. The math department is nationally known for teaching innovation and service, and we expect to engage local faculty as well as our usual national faculty. We will have access to extensive academic and recreational facilities on campus.

GVSU is also just 20 minutes from Grand Rapids, a safe, vibrant, and growing city that features theaters, sports teams, parks, gardens, a zoo with a zip line and ropes course, and museums -- including a presidential museum. 20 minutes to the west, Lake Michigan stretches out to the horizon from sandy beaches (middle photo). The countryside around GVSU is filled with a huge variety of nature parks, trails, bike paths, and orchards. We won't lack for weekend trip activities.

So imagine yourself among others – people just like you – in pursuit of the mathematician within, on this beautiful campus. The bottom photo shows MathPath students conferring indoors last summer. We don't have any pictures of them conferring outdoors at GVSU because we haven't held camp here before.

MathPath offers students of middle school age who are extremely talented in mathematics the summer opportunity to learn and develop at a pace and to a depth that matches their abilities while also providing them the rich social and recreational experience of a residential summer program.

MathPath is an independent nonprofit organization not affiliated with the host institution.
