Fees for 2012

Application Fee and Camp Fee

Application Fee (Non-refundable)

None if the initial application form is submitted by April 20, 2012; $25 otherwise

Camp Fee

This is the same price as last year. In addition, there continue to be many merit scholarships and need-based financial aid.

The camp fee includes tuition, room, board, transportation from/to the designated airport while arriving/departing, one camp hat, one camp shirt, and all common camp activities. It does not include travel to and from your home, nor the cost of optional weekend trips and certain mementos such as the camp monthbook and picture CD. Students who apply relatively early should realize relatively lower air travel costs. It has been reported that the best time to book flights is 1 am EST on Wednesdays.

New in 2012: Reduced Fee for Silbings

If 2 students from the same family attend in the same year, the fee as otherwise computed is reduced by 1/9th. This results in a savings of up to $1000.

Example 1. Your son and daughter are both accepted to MathPath and by our other fee policies you owe 2 x $4500 = $9000. You may take off (1/9)*9000 = 1000. Your final bill is $8000.

Now suppose you also pay 3 months early. Then you may take a further reduction of .03 x 8000 = 240, for a final fee of $7760. Or thought of another way, first you take 3% off 9000, obtaining 8730, and then you take 1/9th off that. Again, the final fee is $7760. (It is a little theorem that these two reductions commute!)

Example 2. Your twin daughters are admitted and qualify for financial aid. We tell you that the reduced tuition for each of them is $3000. Your bill at that point is $6000. Taking off 1/9th, your final bill is $5333.33.
