Dormitory
Students are housed in two dorms linked by a large common social hang-out area. Each dorm has 70 rooms. Each dorm has four floors. Two adjacent floors in one of the dorms is exclusvely for girls where all female staff also live. The showers and facilities are common - a large number of units so that waiting time is minimal.
Rooms
The rooms are double occupancy. However, only one student is in a room so that there will be no excuse for cramped space causing clutter. The rooms are not air-conditioned. Most nights from 10:30 am in Burlington in the summer are cool enough to sleep comfortably. There are two of each of the following in each of the rooms: bed, dresser, wardrobe, study desk, desk chair, trash can, and a recyle bin.
Lighting is adequate for reading and study.
Enviorns, cafeteria, and classrooms
The cafeteria is a 7-minute walk. Students go to and return from cafeteria in groups. There is also a free shuttle bus every 15 minutes to cafeteria.
The front area of the two dorms is spanned by a beautiful grove of trees where students can choose to sit and relax after lunch or dinner. The lecture halls are situated diagonally across through the tree grove. The main lecture theatre and class rooms are set up with modern audio-visual facilities. The math department is near the building. Students have free access to computers to send emails.
Athletic facilities
Students have free access to supervised swim. Piano is available for practice on a sign-up basis. Soccer and tennis are available daily at scheduled times and courts.
There will be a lot of ping pong.
Healthcare
One of the better hospitals in the nation is right on campus. Please ensure to bring your medical insurance card that will cover you in Vermont - very important! International students will be provided with information on insurance providers for them.
